New identity

To mark a milestone in its history, in 2016 ENS Cachan became the École Normale Supérieure Paris-Saclay.

A new identity

This new start was an opportunity to revise the logo. In designing the new logo, close attention was paid not only to the existing one but also to those of the other members of Université Paris-Saclay (universities, grandes écoles and research organizations). The future ENS Paris-Saclay building is designed as a frame around a garden, with strong lines defining and organizing the School’s structure horizontally and vertically.

These features have done much to inspire the new logo, as has the desire to proudly assert the School’s name, which is written out in full rather than using the acronym. For greater consistency, no capitals are used.

The typographic silhouette forms an angle. This impulsion, continued by lines, marks out a surface without delimiting or dividing it.

Its lines may be pursued and modulated on ENS Paris-Saclay's various communication materials; they are the symbol of the School's dynamism, forward-thinking and plurality.

Lines

A line of composition, of conduct. A line of support. A line as an extension, as a progression. A line as a partition and as a continuity of points. An infinity of points but despite the depth, no vanishing point. A line as a base, to mark out a surface or a territory without dividing it off. A line as an invitation to what lies ahead, to a future.
